New members to represent Cabrera Capital Markets and Constellation in efforts to bring economic growth and jobs to Illinois 

CHICAGO, IL – Intersect Illinois today announced that Cabrera Capital Markets and Cabrera Capital Partners CEO and Founder Martin Cabrera and Constellation President and CEO Joseph Dominguez have joined its board of directors. Each will bring their knowledge and experience to advance Intersect Illinois’ mission to bring business investment to Illinois.   

“As the #2 location for corporate investment in the country, the momentum we are seeing within Illinois’ business community is real and engaged business leaders want to join in our mission,” said Intersect Illinois Chairman John Atkinson. “I’m pleased to welcome Martin Cabrera and Joe Dominguez to our board of directors, where their tremendous experience in financial services and clean energy will help further our quest to bring businesses and jobs to Illinois.” 

MARTIN CABRERA JR. is the CEO and Founder of Cabrera Capital Markets (CCM), a global investment bank and institutional brokerage, and Cabrera Capital Partners (CCP), a commercial and residential real estate development firm. For over 25 years, CCM has served a diversified client base including financial institutions, states and municipalities, corporations, unions, foundations, and endowments. CCM has issued over $1.9 trillion in debt and equity underwritings, and trades over $2.2 billion in securities daily. CCP is a trusted consultant and advisor for clients in the public, private, institutional, and non-profit sectors. CCP is currently working on a 33-acre site on Chicago’s Southwest side to create a $500 million mixed income, mixed-used community. Cabrera has over 30 years of investment experience and serves on the boards of numerous civic and philanthropic organizations in Illinois and nationally.

JOSEPH DOMINGUEZ is the President and CEO of Constellation, which employs 13,000 workers, has a generating capacity of more than 32,400 megawatts and serves more than 20 million homes and businesses with clean energy. Dominguez oversees Constellation’s clean energy fleet of nuclear, wind, solar, hydroelectric and natural gas facilities in 19 states, and the nation’s top competitive retail and commodities business, which provides electricity, natural gas and other energy-related products and services to two million residential, public sector and business customers nationwide (including more than three-fourths of the Fortune 100). Dominguez serves on the boards of multiple energy-focused organizations.

Intersect Illinois has added fifteen new members to its board since the end of last year. It recently restructured the board to expand member engagement and networking opportunities and form new board committees, such as the Executive Advisory Council, where members will be able to generate ideas and action that lead to economic growth.  

 A non-partisan group of civic and private-sector leaders, Intersect Illinois’ board is dedicated to bringing economic growth and jobs to Illinois, advising the organization on ways to make the state even more attractive for business attraction. Leaders are recommended for the board to represent a diversity of regions, industries and backgrounds. All members are approved by a board vote. 

 Recent appointees include GCM Grosvenor CEO and Chairman of Michael Sacks, SPAAN Tech, Inc., President and CEO Smita Shah, Chicago Bears President & CEO Kevin Warren, Wanxiang America Corporation CEO Pin Ni, Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce CEO Jack Lavin, P33 CEO Brad Henderson, DLA Piper Partner John Lyons, Chicago State University President Z Scott, Clayco Chicagoland Chief Growth Officer Michael Fassnacht, Skyway Concessions Company CEO Kristi Lafleur, and Illinois Manufacturers’ Association President & CEO Mark Denzler.
