Dan Lynch is vice president of state and local government affairs at United Airlines, based at the company’s world headquarters in Chicago. In this role, Dan is responsible for creating constructive and effective relationships with all levels of elected and appointed government and opinion leaders throughout the United States.

Prior to this position, Dan was managing director of corporate and government affairs for United, where he oversaw government relations in Chicago, Denver and Dulles, Virginia. Dan joined United in 2006, and has since held a variety of positions in the airline’s government affairs department.

Prior to joining United in 2006, Dan served as a Senior Advisor at The Commercial Club of Chicago, a prominent civic and economic development organization representing corporate interests in the city. He managed the organization’s initiatives on transportation, infrastructure and public education reform.

Before returning to Chicago, Dan spent several years in Washington DC. He worked for the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), an independent, nonpartisan agency of Congress, and as a legislative aide to U.S. Senator Herb Kohl (Wisconsin).

Dan is involved in a number of civic and charitable organizations. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and the Civic Federation. Dan is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and also serves on the Board of Directors for the Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago. He previously served on the Board of Christopher House.

Dan is a native of the Chicago area and is married with four children. He has a Bachelor’s Degree from Marquette University and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas-Austin.
