Lenora Fisher is a Business Development Director at Intersect Illinois where she educates business prospects on why selecting Illinois for a new business location will accelerate the company’s success and growth. 

With over 10 years of economic and community development experience, Lenora served as the Director of Business Attraction for the Greater Peoria EDC, a 5 county region in central Illinois and as the Community Development Director for the Morton Economic Development Council and Chamber of Commerce, the Pumpkin Capital of the world, also in the Greater Peoria region.  Her background also includes managing a small local business, advocating for public transportation, doing community outreach for a private university, serving in 8 states on a winning presidential campaign, and supporting public policy research in graduate school.   

Lenora is an active member of Women in Leadership of Central Illinois and is an appointed commissioner on the City of Peoria’s Downtown Advisory Commission as well as on the Transportation Committee of Peoria City and County’s Joint Commission on Racial Justice and Equity (RJE).  Her volunteer experiences in Peoria have included service to the Junior League, the WCBU Community Advisory Board, Habitat for Humanity, the Ronald McDonald House of Central Illinois, Rotary International, Kiwanis Club, and others. In St. Louis, her volunteer experiences included serving as Secretary on the St. Louis Arts Alliance Board, as an at large board member of the Campus Y at Washington University, and as a peer host for the St. Louis Transplants effort, now called Acclimate. 

Lenora holds a Bachelor of Arts from Greenville College in Illinois, as well as Masters Degrees from both Wesley Theological Seminary and American University’s School of International Service in Washington, D.C. She resides in Peoria with her husband and two cats.
