Louie Binswanger, senior vice president of Government, Regulatory and External Affairs, leads governmental affairs, external affairs, regulatory strategy and affairs, energy acquisition and strategy, and economic and workforce development. He also has oversight for the corporate relations function, which manages ComEd’s relationships with civic and charitable organizations. He also serves as a member of the ComEd Management Committee and has 40 years of utility industry experience. Louie joined ComEd from Nicor Gas, where he worked since 2013. He most recently served as vice president of External Affairs, where he led, developed, and directed the company’s regulatory policy, strategy and planning, and was responsible for regulatory activities before the Illinois Commerce Commission.
Louie serves as Vice Chairman and Board Member of Hispanics in Energy; Board Member of the American Red Cross, and Advisory Council Member of the Center for Public Utilities, New Mexico State University, and recently served as Advisory Council Member of the Institute for Regulatory Policy Studies, Illinois State University.
Louie earned a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso. He is a registered professional engineer and completed a finance and accounting executive program at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
