S&C Electric Co. is expanding its U.S. manufacturing footprint, adding a 275,000-square-foot facility in Palatine, Illinois, to grow its Chicagoland operations, the Chicago electrical grid company said Tuesday.

The new development will be located approximately 25 miles from the company’s 47-acre headquarters and manufacturing campus in Rogers Park and is expected to create around 200 production and engineering jobs for the area.

The facility is expected to be fully occupied and production started up by early next year.
